Due Diligence for Renewable Energy Development
At EnviroMINE, we use a phased approach to due diligence when evaluating land availability for renewable energy projects. As part of this process, we conduct thorough checks of both federal and private lands to mitigate risks and ensure the land is accessible for the intended development. Here's how we structure our process:
Phase 1: Comprehensive Database Research
Our initial phase utilizes the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) advanced systems, including:
Mineral and Land Records System (MLRS)
General Land Office Records (GLOR)
These resources offer access to vital records without requiring extensive fieldwork or travel.
Data collected will include:
General Locations of Mining Claims
Master Title Plats
Land Patents
Rights-of-Way Locations
Existing Surveys
Oil/Gas Well Information
For each mining claim, we’ll document:
Claim type (lode or placer)
Name and disposition (activity status)
Serial number
Claimant name and address
Location (description to ¼ section)
Action history (e.g., location date, fee payments)
Additionally, any relevant information about other land use authorizations—such as leases, notices of intent, or rights-of-way will be incorporated into the report.
Additional Resources Consulted
We expand our research by leveraging:
BLM’s State Office Database
National Grazing Allotment Database
Areas of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC) Database
County Assessor and Recorder’s Offices Databases
Phase 2: Data Verification and Map Refinement
Once preliminary plans are developed, we proceed with:
Verification: Contacting the BLM State Office and local field offices to ensure the accuracy and currency of collected data.
Enhanced Mapping: Refining map accuracy by reviewing additional records and updates from BLM State Office.
Final Report: All findings will be included in a final report, accompanied by supporting documentation.
This phased approach ensures a thorough evaluation of the property, laying the groundwork for seamless renewable energy development.
Partner with EnviroMINE to gain clarity on land use challenges and confidently move forward in your renewable energy initiatives.
